EEG/Brainwave Images — Set 1 (page 3)

The images shown below display brain activity from the low Delta range (0.1Hz) to the Beta range (30Hz) in the left and right hemispheres of the brain. Each row on the left side represents the reading from an electrode placed on the left hemisphere. Each row on the right side represents the reading from an electrode placed on the right hemisphere. Electrodes are placed according to the International 10-20 System of Electrode Placement. The following colors are used to represent the individual brainwave activity ranges:

Fig 1: Brain activity while meditating with no binaural audio. Notice how the activity in the two hemispheres is only slightly synchronized.

Fig 2: Brain activity while meditating with no binaural audio. More Delta activity (blue) has appeared in the left hemisphere, but only minimal whole brain synchronization is occurring.

Fig 4: Brain activity after 10 minutes of listening to the Insight CD. Notice the increase in Theta activity (green) and Delta activity (blue) and the increase in synchronization between the two hemispheres.

Fig 5: Brain activity after 15 minutes of listening to the Insight CD. Notice the increase in Delta activity (blue) and the additional increase in whole brain synchronization.
